Our Ofsted Registered preschool setting is based in its own private walled garden at Leighton Hall. The Hazel Retreat provides a homely welcoming space to return to after adventures in the woods and wider grounds of the estate providing a range of outdoor learning opportunities for children to engage and develop with. Our team have a wealth of experiences and backgrounds and lend their skills and learning so that we can provide truly unique individually tailored experiences for each child that visits. Our adventures in the wider area actively involve our children in their learning, enabling them to build a deep connection to the nature and landscape around them. We value our community of learners and their families and by using the Forest School way of learning to teach our children to explore and investigate, we are improving outcomes for our children, even after they have moved on. Our learners are aged 3+ including a number of home educated older learners who play and learn with us. This mixed age group builds a rich community of friends and our children build confidence and resilience and support each other as they play.

Our Amazing holiday club is back for 2025 and is bigger and better than ever before. We are running 2 clubs simultaneously which we trialed to great feedback in the summer. The ‘Little Easter Playdays’ are held in the Hazel Tree Retreat which is our private walled garden area, filled with an array of fun activities, crafts, swings and tree climbing. Your 3-6 year old will have an amazing time and come home with stories to tell and mud on their clothes.
